Dr. Theodoros Tsagaris received his education in the UK from UCL (MSc in Statistics, 2003) and Imperial College (PhD in Mathematics, 2010). His PhD offered novel insights in online pattern recognition for streaming data which culminated into several academic papers in prestigious journals. One of the papers published, “Flexible least squares for temporal data mining and statistical arbitrage”, is commonly cited in statistical arbitrage and machine learning applications in investment management literature.
Dr. Tsagaris spent over a decade as senior portfolio manager in major hedge funds trading multi-billion dollar portfolios, and over his tenure, he developed a range of low latency to medium term trading strategies and the related technology infrastructure. He also served as the Technology Lead of a multi-billion hedge fund and developed their proprietary trading infrastructure.
Over his tenure, he helped generate over a billion dollars of returns for the investors and won multiple accolades and awards.
